This is what death at 300 MPH looks like.
Scott Kalitta, 46, was flying down a New Jersey raceway Saturday at nearly 300 MPH when his Funny Car burst into flames and then smashed into a barrier. The two-time Top Fuel champion was pronounced dead at hospital a short time later.
Kalitta was survived by his father, his wife Kathy and two sons Corey, 14, and Colin, 8.
